Andrew Tufano
Actor • Singer • Dancer • Choreographer
Performance Review
"Tufano as Kodaly was just the sort of self-centered jerk an audience loves to hate, with a strong tenor voice that always sounded just a little sneering; he and Emily Bacino Althaus are both wonderful dancers, as showcased in the number “Ilona”, and made an excellent pair as they spun across the stage." ("She Loves Me" Review, Lily Bryson, The Decaturian 2021)

"I met the parents of one of the performers in the show. This is his first professional Chicago show. He's just starting. Living his dream and it's beginning with this line. Michael Bennett would be proud." ("A Chorus Line" Review, Tina St. Angelo Wetzel, Broadway World Chicago)

ABOUT ME!
Hey there! Welcome to my website:) I'm Andrew and I was proudly raised in Melrose Park, Illinois, but now I live in Manhattan, NYC! I come from a huge Italian-American family who all live next door to where I grew up. My grandfather, Bob Perna a/k/a "Poppi," was the leader of his jazz band and was a renowned trumpet player. Music has always been in my life ever since I was born, and as I get older, my family tells me I emulate the same tenacity and passion my Poppi displayed.

Before pursuing theatre, I was an athlete playing multiple sports, predominately baseball. I started performing at the age of 11 and I remember the countless days I would dance and sing it out in my house. Now, I love giving mini performances for my friends everyday. I am always ON!
I graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep where I was the President of the Harlequins Theatre Troupe. In 2018, I was nominated as one of the Top 12 Actors in Illinois for Broadway in Chicago's Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards. After four years of performing at SICP, I realized the stage is where I belong. I chose to study at Millikin University, where I received a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance. I performed in six mainstage musicals, multiple burlesque shows, dance concerts, cabarets, and was a classroom assistant for tap. There, I discovered my passion to choreograph as well. Additionally, I worked as a performer at Six Flags Great America for three seasons. I have performed in the Chicago Theatre scene and I am Jeff Award winner for Best Ensemble in 2023.

My friends and family would describe me as driven, goofy, adventurous, and spontaneous. Who can argue with that? While I am an extreme thrill seeker with a fiery passion, I hope I continue to make those around me enjoy their life and share their emotions with me.
Stay FIERCE,
